15 January – 18:00 – 23:30
The Centenary of the Ebro River Basin Authority (CHE) opens a space for dialogue in Reinosa about the territory, the Ebro Reservoir, and the history that links the city to water management. This meeting is designed to listen, understand, and take a fresh look at a landscape that is part of everyday life in the region.
The meeting will feature Agustín Monteoliva Herreras, who will present “Environmental aspects of the Ebro Reservoir”, and Rogelio Galván Plaza, with the talk “The birth of the Confederation and the Ebro Reservoir”.
The session will take place on January 15, 2026 and is part of the CHE Centenary programme of activities. It will be an opportunity to bring together different perspectives on the reservoir: its current situation, the environmental challenges it poses, and the historical context in which its management is framed.
Agustín Monteoliva Herreras holds a PhD in Biology and is the director of Ecohydros, S. L., an environmental consultancy company based in Cantabria dedicated to the analysis and management of aquatic systems. He has held this position since October 2003 and has taken part in more than a hundred regional, national, and international technical and scientific projects related to inland water bodies, reservoirs, and environmental monitoring programmes.
Rogelio Galván Plaza is a technical engineer in public works and holds a degree in History. He has worked at the Ebro River Basin Authority since 1998 and currently heads the Economic and Social Studies Service of the Hydrological Planning Office. As the institutional coordinator of the Water Experts Network, he regularly takes part in technical work and specialist forums on hydrological planning and environmental management of the basin, bringing a historical and social perspective to the analysis of water resources.
