On Saturday, 22 August, an event took place in Villanueva de Huerva, linked to the CHE centenary, at which the book of the biography of Clemente Sáenz García (1897–1973) was presented. He was a Civil Engineer and Geologist who, called upon by Manuel Lorenzo Pardo, served as Head of the Geological Service of the Ebro Hydrographic Syndical Confederation in those early years after its creation. As soon as he began his work, he was entrusted with the geological studies for drafting the Las Torcas reservoir project, where he discovered the first fossil remains of a dinosaur in the province of Zaragoza. His involvement in the Ebro reservoir is also noteworthy, along with numerous works across the rest of the basin.
His son, Fernando Sáenz Ridruejo, the author of the book, offers an intimate and refined account of the full biography of this great engineer and man of science.
