The traveling exhibition of the centenary of the CHE ends its tour in Tortosa, a key city for its relationship with the Ebro River and its role in the Baix Ebre. On the banks of the final stretch of the river, Tortosa has always been linked to its course, especially the delta, a unique space marked by environmental and management challenges.
The collaboration between Tortosa and the CHE has continued for over a century, with projects involving water control, irrigation and protection of the natural environment. The Ebro Delta, declared a Natural Park and Biosphere Reserve, exemplifies the importance of sustainable management to guarantee the future of this ecosystem and the communities that depend on it.
The exhibition is installed in the Museum of Tortosa, former Municipal Slaughterhouse, modernist style and converted into a cultural space, an emblematic place that reinforces the dialogue between heritage, city and territory.
